  • Bonding

Dental bonding is a process by which dental professionals apply a tooth-colored plastic to a patient’s teeth. It is used to improve a patient’s smile and to repair decayed or cracked teeth. A special light is used to harden the material after which it bonds with the patient’s teeth. It can also be used in cases of cavities and receding gums.

  • Cleanings & Exams

Professional dental cleanings require a thorough cleaning by a Registered Dental Hygienist to remove plaque, tartar buildup and gum disease. During the prophylactic cleaning, a dental exam is performed, including the removal of calculus and plaque. Teeth polishing is also performed in some cases to remove stains and debris that are not removed during tooth brushing and scaling. Consult your dentist if you have questions about the type of cleaning you should receive.

  • Crowns

A crown is a covering that goes over the front of the tooth. It restores the original shape and size of the tooth, strengthens it, or protects it from decay. When a filling tends to pop out, a crown can hold it in place. A crown can also protect teeth that are weak, or help fix ones that are broken. Over time a crown may become too large or misshapen, and then needs to be replaced.

  • Dental Exams & Cleaning

Your dentist will conduct a comprehensive oral exam during your initial visit. Each time you visit Loma Vista Dental, you'll receive a comprehensive oral exam that includes: examination of diagnostic X-rays, oral cancer screening, gum disease evaluation, and examinations of tooth decay and existing restorations.

  • Dental Implants

Dental implants are a great way to restore confidence in your smile and provide you with a better way to eat, speak and laugh. They are an option for people who have lost teeth or who have gum disease that has made removable dentures difficult or impossible to use. Dental implants are strong and durable and will last many years. On occasion, they will have to be re-tightened or replaced due to normal wear.

  • Dental Night Guards

If you grind your teeth, you face the possibility of dental damage. At Loma Vista Dental, our dentists can create custom night guards for excessive grinding and bruxism.

  • Dentures & Partials Teeth Whitening

Dentures are replacements for missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into your mouth. There are two types: complete and partial dentures. A complete denture is used when all of the teeth are missing, while a partial denture can be used in cases in which some natural teeth remain. A partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from shifting.

  • Extractions

An extraction is the removal of a tooth. It can be performed for a number of reasons, including infection or damage. If you need an extraction, your dentist will numb the area around the tooth and remove it with a special tool. A small amount of bleeding is normal due to your mouth's natural ability to replace a missing tooth root by forming a blood clot.

  • Gum Treatment

The first step in getting rid of gum disease is a regular check-up at the dentist. If dental hygiene is insufficient, scaling and root planing is an important procedure. After you have been treated, gum disease may resolve on its own, but it is more likely to get worse if you don't follow up with regular dental care.

  • Orthodontics

Problem teeth are often referred to as malocclusions. This is when a client’s teeth do not line up correctly in their mouth. Orthodontics also focuses on the development of the facial bones and jaw. While orthodontics provides more than just cosmetic treatment, it is important that we fix any problem teeth so that they can be healthy and strong for the future.

  • Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers are custom-made tooth-colored layers of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth to create a stunning smile. Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile, giving you a wonderful, long-lasting smile. Veneers will eventually need to be replaced. They are very durable and long lasting, giving you a beautiful, long lasting smile.

  • Root Canal Treatment

A root canal treatment is designed to eliminate infected bacteria from a tooth's root canal, prevent reinfection of the tooth by the bacteria, and save a tooth that is otherwise likely to be pulled out. To repair the damage, a root canal procedure is used to remove infected space. The tooth is then filled with a special glue-like compound that solidifies and keeps the tooth cavity from developing further.

  • Sealants

Sealants are a dental filling material that we can apply to the surface of your teeth. It is a thin plastic coating that coats the fissures and grooves on your teeth. It is basically a protective coating against tooth decay and cavities. The most common place to do this is on the back teeth because they often tend to be irregular and hard to reach. We also do it on young children for hygiene purposes such as preventing tooth decay in their baby teeth.

  • Tooth Colored Fillings

For a patient who's recently had a cavity, the tooth-colored filling is placed inside the tooth to cover the hole and prevent the decay from spreading. The new version of the old fillings are made with a composite resin compound that fill and close off a cavity after the compromised area has been taken out. Unlike traditional fillings, the tooth-colored filling blends gorgeously with your natural teeth to keep them looking flawless.
